From Jewish Homes,To Christian Homes.Part one

Jewish Home

God almighty places very great emphasis on the homes on earth, sets the solitary in families,Psalm{68;6}6God sets the solitary in families;
He brings out those who are bound into prosperity;
But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

From the inception of the nation called Israel,God placed so much authority on parents, Exodus20:12 ".Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee."He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”— then he need not honor his father [a]or mother.’ Thus you have made the [b]commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. Mathew 15:3-6.

Homes are tied up with the the life of the people and during the new testament times, the Jewish homes were still very significant and very important foundation in upholding their religious heritage.

HOME; A Place Of Religious Instruction

Duetronomy.6vs 6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates...

From the inception, religious instruction and training in Israel has never been the job of a community ,or institutions, rather ,much of it  was done in the homes according to God's instructions and commandments.(see quotation above}

Duetronomy 11;18-21

18 “Therefore you shall [h]lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 19 You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 20 And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, 21 that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth above)

The people of Israel (Christians) were to pray to God at night ,in the morning,at home and when on a walk. Practice of faith in God was and must be incorporated into everyday life.

Fathers in particular were responsible for care cum strict training of their sons in Godly heritage and rites. Jesus from boyhood was religiously instructed:Luke 2:51> 51 Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was [m]subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Luke 4;16..20. So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.  And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me [i]to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,

To set at liberty those who are [j]oppressed;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him.

And Timothy was also religiously trained (1 Timothy 1:5,3:15.) Therefore Christian families not only teach their children by precept but they follow it up squarely by practice and godly examples

Luke..1: 5-9,

There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years.

So it was, that while he was serving as priest before God in the order of his division, according to the custom of the priesthood, [c]his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord

Inside The Apostle's Creed

Posted on April 28 2024 by www.chainprayers.faith.org

What Is The Apostles Creed | Christian.net

The Apostle's Creed ,what is it ?...The Apostles’ Creed is a short confession of faith that systematically summarizes the fundamental beliefs of Christianity. It was not devised by theologians but rather by the earliest followers of Jesus, who personally witnessed His life, death, resurrection, and ascension. Let’s explore its key components:

  1. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth:This opening phrase acknowledges the existence of the one true God who created the entire universe.

  2. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

    Here, we affirm Jesus as the unique Son of God and our Lord.
  3. Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary:

    This part highlights the miraculous birth of Jesus through the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary.
  4. Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried:

    It recounts Jesus’ earthly suffering, crucifixion, and burial.
  5. (He descended into hell.):

    Note that this clause does not appear in the earliest manuscripts of the creed but has become part of the traditional formulation.
  6. On the third day, He rose again from the dead:

    This pivotal event signifies Jesus’ victory over death and His resurrection.
  7. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father:

  8. Jesus’ ascension to heaven and His exalted position are affirmed.
  9. From there, He will come to judge the living and the dead:

  10. This anticipates Jesus’ future role as the ultimate Judge.
